Do crazy people know they are crazy?

Life Is B.E.A..UUUUUUUTIFUL!!

  •  I’m sure a whole lot of us would’ve felt that sting of remorse after you were given that one oppurtunity to dive in an seize the chance that you’ve been waiting for so long..but didn’t have the dough, the circumstances or the willingness at that particular moment and simply just let the moment slip away..
  • When you gave in to those littlest obstacles that posed threats to your plans and threw your hands up in the air accepting defeat…or when you thought you made up your mind to go ahead  and suddenly “Oh wait!!What am I doin??Am I crazy or wat??”
  • Have you ever listened to your heart and paid attention to what You want and tried liberating yourselves from the obligation you felt to be a streotype…Translation – Have you clapped your hands in church ‘cos everyone was clapping? or abstained from the same but felt weird ‘cos you felt you were doing something different..I have! Now I don’t.
  •  Have you ever had the doubt that you’ve made the wrong choice and it’d cause you severe consequences? Have  you ever taken the risk to tred the road less travelled because the uncertainity was overwhelming?
  •  Have you ever been scared to look beyond what you see and just followed your heart, your passions and taken that  leap of faith without a safety-net?
  • When was the last time you broke out of your regular pattern and did something you’ve never done before just for the sheer pleasure of exploring new horizons? like just packed your bags and left for a journey unplannned? or boarded a bus without knowing where it goes?

I’m sure you’ll know when that unique oppurtunity flashes before your eyes, that “This is it! It’s now or never!” And I’m sure if I let this slip I know 2 years down the line when all the stars allign and I’d have loads of cash to spare but the moment had already come and gone,I’m gonna sit back and dwell in regret sighing “If only!”

So Here it is!Now is the time! My bags are packed…my tickets are booked…I’m off to the place where I belong…

I hear the wind across the plain
A sound so strong – that calls my name
It’s wild like the river – it’s warm like the sun
Ya it’s here – this is where I belong

Under the starry skies – where eagles have flown
This place is paradise – it’s the place I call home
The moon on the mountains
The whisper through the trees
The waves on the water
Let nothing come between this and me

Cuz everything I want – is everything that’s here
And when when we’re all together – there’s nothing to fear
And wherever I wander – the one thing I’ve learned
It’s to here – I will always….always return

WHY NOT ME???

“Expression” is a bi-monthly magazine that my company brings out inorder to “enlighten” employees as well as clients about whats goin’…and every edition has a quiz that comprises of 10 ques related to topics discussed in the magazine…just to make sure somebody reads the magazine.Every single time i see one of those quizzes i wonder why don’t  they just try some other innovative idea for promotion…Last time me and rapajnipi were flipping through the latest edition, we’d commented on what are the odds of one of us winning the prize which happened to be a 2GB iPOD nano and didn’t bother to submit the ”so-called”  quiz ‘cos we believed deep inside  all these lucky draw contests were scams!!

Notwithstanding the ad. on the back cover of the magazine with quote from Bapalapajipi who joined the company with us,commenting about a Nikon Digital Camera he won on the quiz from the previous edition of Expression,we decided to show some integrity and loyalty to our ideologies-that all raffles were scams!!( the sheer under-lying reason being laziness…who’d wanna read the entire magazine just to answer 10 stupid ques..take the pain to send it back and wait expectantly when the probability of winning probably tended to Zero.)

Our beliefs remained steadfast and sure until today when i took a stroll with another friend around the company in the evening.Let me introduce to you Mr.Mapanjupunapath. This is a genuine example for smart work..All this genius did was to take 2 mins of his idle time to search key-words in the pdf version of the magazine and fill in the quiz and TA DA!! The guy wins the 2GB iPOD nano….OH!!FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

Next time when you come across that poor handicapped guy selling lottery tickets just don’t listen to what people say….shed some coins get a ticket!!

And about me….I’m waiting for the next Expression to come out and in the meanwhile practising Mind Control techniques.”Ooooooo Abra ca Dabra…you don’t deserve that iPOD..Give it to me!!”

Highly Infectious Virus (HIV)

Unlike some of my friends at work who are along with me in a position you can’t strictly term as “The Bench” ‘cos we’ve been assigned to Barclays…I LIKED BEING JOBLESS!! All we do all day long is loaf around the office and waste a lot of time, solve crosswords, play carroms  and occasionally read some technical material provided to us…only if we are that bored!! I used to like being jobless…until today….when we got REALLY jobless!!

We were all sitting together in the open-air cafeteria and racking our brains on another Hindu crossword..which happened to be terribly boring today…So we resorted to the ancient technique of relay-poetry….where each person writes a line and passes the poem around…and watch the way absolutely ridiculous themes gradually unfold with no correlation what so ever…This was their debut relay-poem still it captured the moment and the sting of boredom involved with being somewhere between “The Bench” and “The floor”.We don’t have a name for it so name it yourself….wait!! how abt boredom-the killer cancer!

Boredom-The killer cancer

By : Sushma Yadav, Rajni Misra and Thomas Mathew

I wish i were a butterfly

which would always fly up in the sky

and wouldn’t ever make anybody cry

Oh! My Lord! This is getting so dry!!!

I think my brain  soon will get fried

just the way they cook french-fries

which i would try

as much as money can buy… until I die!

Why do you always lie ?

‘cos I’m just another guy

So go and get some money for a diamond to buy

and you could draw me nigh

to see the sparkle in my eye

but i don’t have the money to buy even a pie

and doesn’t that make u feel shy?

hey!  please try not to be so wry

Someone tell me if you’ve got a tie

but my only question is why?

so that we could all hang ourselves from high!!

sigh!!

Show must go on

All through the day i found myself humming-”Show must go on” by Queen, which was one of my fav bands back in school and still continues to be in my top 10 list.I guess the song got stuck in my head after reading a mail from a dear old friend about the loss of a loved one in the family and it was some major emotion-triggering material. Death…got me stumbling through the same questions that used to eat into a major chunk of my time back in college-Who are we?Who are these people we get closer to on this journey of life? Why do we miss them when they are gone? Sometimes it hard to draw consolation when things around you change so drastically that it leaves you confused, torn apart and sometimes even intimidated.Life still goes on and this song is all about it.

LADIES AND GENTLE MEN….FREDDIE MERCURY!! ”Show must go on” was mainly written by guitarist Brian May was a reflection on Freddie Mercury’s declining health and came out in the album Innuendo(1991).The song was #2 on  the US billboard chart along with “Bohemian Rhapsody“.

show must go on

Empty spaces – what are we living for
Abandoned places – I guess we know the score
On and on, does anybody know what we are looking for…
Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore
The show must go on,
The show must go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on.
Whatever happens, I’ll leave it all to chance
Another heartache, another failed romance
On and on, does anybody know what we are living for?
I guess I’m learning, I must be warmer now
I’ll soon be turning, round the corner now
Outside the dawn is breaking
But inside in the dark I’m aching to be free
The show must go on
The show must go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly – my friends
The show must go on
The show must go on
I’ll face it with a grin
I’m never giving in
On – with the show -
I’ll top the bill, I’ll overkill
I have to find the will to carry on
On with the -
On with the show -
The show must go on…

Did you know???

  • Freddie Mercury was born to Parsi-Indian parents and did his schooling in St.Peter’s Boarding School near Bombay where he learnt how to play the piano and was part of a band called the Hectics. He completed his education in in St.Mary’s High school.Mercury’s parents used to listen to a great deal of Indian music and one of his early influences is Lata Mangeshkar. To all Indian fans-He never liked to reveal his Indian descent and preferred to be known as a Persian either because he feared a racial backlash or because he thought it wouldn’t fit his Rock star image.Kya patriotism bhai??

  • The Queen logo called as the Queen Crest was designed by Freddie Mercury(who had a Diploma in Art and graphic design) and it depicts the Zodiac signs of the band members-2 lions for Leo (Roger Taylord and John Deacon) ,a crab for Cancer (Brian May) and 2 fairies for Virgo (Freddie Mercury).

  • Freddie mercury’s recorded vocal range spanned over 4 octaves, his lowest note being the F below the bass clef and the highest being the D which lies 4 octaves higher.WAT?????

  • Mercury’s song writing expertise is evident from the complexity of some of the songs like Bohemian Rhapsody which has about 60 chords(unbelievable!!) and covers a wide variety of genres.

  • This one is pretty confusing …Mercury said the following in an interview “All my lovers asked me why they couldn’t replace Mary (Austin-his girlfriend), but it’s simply impossible. The only friend I’ve got is Mary, and I don’t want anybody else. To me, she was my common-law wife. To me, it was a marriage. We believe in each other, that’s enough for me. I couldn’t fall in love with a man the same way as I have with Mary.“      Mercury spent the last 6 years of his life with Jim Hutton, whom he referred to as his husband and died wearing a wedding band that Hutton had given him.

  • On Nov 22nd 1991 Mercury made a public annoucement admitting that he was tested HIV positive and died after 24 hours.Earwin Johnson a.k.a Magic Johnson(L.A. Lakers fame)  was another one to make a similar statement the same month..He’s still alive and kicking!!

  • My personal favourites are Bohemian Rhapsody,Somebody to love,Don’t stop me now,Killer Queen,We are the champions,Flash,Old fashioned lover boy,Save me and Fat Bottomed girls(hehe…my brother and his alumni band did this song once in school.. it was School Day,when i was in 10th grade  i guess…old boys rocked the show..they were heroes!! the song was a big hit among the  school boys ‘cos of obvious reasons.)
